Christopher Columbus
Imagine being on a ship on a stormy night, hunting for land for a king and queen. That is what it was like for Columbus and his men. Today i'm going to tell you the great expedition of Christopher Columbus’s life. My topics are his Early Years, how he’d end up in the New World, and the truth who discovered America
Early Years
Columbus was born on 10/31/1451 in a place called Italy. Young Columbus had worked at his father’s trade and weaving shop. As a teen he started sailing. Once queen Elizabeth gave Columbus the money to buy 3 ships. She did this because she wanted Columbus to find land.
The Journey/how he ended up in the New World
Over the boat ride Columbus spotted a Bird going to its nest. Chris then spotted a Bahamian island, believing it was Asia. When Columbus got there he noticed people thinking they were from Asia. These people traded with Columbus and his crew. Chris thought these men would be perfect servants.
The Truth
Many people think Columbus discovered America, but really he did not. Columbus claimed islands his. This information proves that Columbus did not discover America. The truth is that the native american ancestors founded America. After the journey, when Columbus was home, he was arrested for treating the native americans badly. And later died in Valladolid Spain on 5/20/1506.
Conclusion
Unfortunately this is the end. But, i have a question. During this ride what did Columbus think throughout the journey? Also, after the journey what happened to the men? Did they ever go back to sea? We don’t know. But we do know Columbus’s legacy. That is all, I hope you enjoyed reading about, Columbus’s early years the journey and the truth. Bye!
